Project on Enhancement of the Infrastructure of Long-term Care in Hong Kong

With an allocation from the Lotteries Fund, the Sau Po Centre on Ageing (COA) of The University of Hong Kong was commissioned by the Social Welfare Department (SWD) of the Hong Kong SAR Government in November 2013 to provide consultancy services for the implementation of a consultancy project on enhancement of the infrastructure of long-term care (LTC) in Hong Kong. This three-year project has started on November 1, 2013 and is expected to complete by October 2016. The Project aims to enhance the infrastructure of LTC services in Hong Kong, achieve a better balanced and more cost-effective utilisation according to the genuine need of the elderly for Community Care Service and Residential Care Service, improve the quality of care and quality of life of frail elderly, as well as shedding light on the future development of LTC services.
